Meghalaya - The most appealing and conducive place for extended holidays which is also referred to as "The Abode of the clouds". The state is bounded to the south by the Bangladeshi divisions of Mymensingh and Sylhet, to the west by the Bangladeshi division of Rangpur, and to the east by the India's State of Assam. The capital of Meghalaya is Shillong. The gentle hills of this region are interspersed with rich meadows and pine forests and rich flora and fauna to boast of. Even an indifferent nature lover will be compelled to appreciate the three hundred varieties of the orchids and the unique carnivorous plant – the Pitcher plant and the Blue Vanda.

Living Root Bridge Trek: Living Root Bridges are a fine example of man-made bridges, the same is being handmade by the Khasi & the Jaintia people of the mountainous area of Shillong. They are made from the aerial roots of the rubber trees & are a sight to behold. The trek can be covered at both "Cherrapunjee" & "Mawlynnong" & is one of the greatest of attractions of the state of "Meghalaya".

Boating on the Umngot river – Umngot river at Dawki is famous for its crystal clear water offering a view of the life beneath. Boating on this river is a really beautiful experience – one that should not be missed. This river is considered one of the cleanest in India and the sunlight reflecting on the clear water lends it a green tinge.

Skywalk at the Don Bosco Museum for the Indigenous cultures of North East – as the museum provides us an insight into the various tribes of the North-Eastern states of India and their lives, the skywalk offers an amazing view of the pine-covered city of Shillong and the hills surrounding it.

Waterfalls – the numerous waterfalls, each with its own distinct character, are hard to miss. The Elephant Falls in Shillong - where the beauty of the natural fall has been made accessible manually; the Nohkalikai Falls in Cherrapunjee – which has its own legend; the seven sisters falls – which is a vision to behold are among the most famous few. There are several others named and unnamed which are sure to arrest the interest of the travelers.
